Summer Intensives 2013
The Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education is one of the largest ballet training facilities in the US. It is the official school of Atlanta Ballet, the oldest continually operating ballet company in the nation. Celebrating its 17th anniversary, the Centre is one of a few professional ballet schools in the country accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance.
The Centre has twice been selected to represent the Southeast in the USA International Ballet Competition, one of the most prestigious ballet competitions in the world. Four dancers from the 2012 Summer Programs were selected as Fellowships and four were selected for the Conservatory program for the 2012-2013 season. Eleven Centre graduates are currently members of Atlanta Ballet, and other graduates are dancing with elite ballet companies across the country.
The Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education Summer Intensive Program has earned a reputation for excellence, with a challenging, comprehensive curriculum that emphasizes strong technique, artistry, and performance. Led by Director John McFall and Centre Dean Sharon Story, the summer programs offer outstanding faculty and master guest teachers dedicated to helping each individual student maximize his or her training experience and goals.
Several programs at various locations in Georgia are available for the intermediate through professional level dancer. Students will participate in a minimum of four classes each day, in addition to performance rehearsals. The Atlanta Ballet Centre Summer Intensives focus on developing well-rounded dancers by exposing them to a wide variety of disciplines with an emphasis on classical ballet technique.
Atlanta Ballet's 55,000-square-foot Michael C. Carlos Dance Centre, opened in 2010, is the epicenter of dance for our community and region. The state-of-the-art facility is certified Gold by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, making Atlanta Ballet only the second arts organization in the country whose headquarters boasts LEED-certification. Come and dance with us this summer!
Summer day programs also are offered which require no audition.

Please note that the $30 Audition Fee (audition in person or by absentee video/photographs) as well as the $25 Application Fee are required of each student. (Students participating in the Buckhead/Cobb Creative Movement, Young Dancers Summer Experience or Beg/Int Day Camp are exempt from the audition process.) Important Note: All payments are non-refundable.
