Advanced students may audition for the Academy, an intense program designed for students who wish to pursue careers in professional dance. With up to five hours of required daily classes (depending on the level), Academy students practice classical and contemporary ballet, pointe, adagio, modern, and jazz. Advanced students may rehearse with Atlanta Ballet’s professional company, learn repertory, and possibly perform on stage at the Fox Theatre, the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, and the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center at City Springs. Academy classes are offered at the Academy I & II, Academy III, Academy IV, Academy V, and Atlanta Ballet 2 levels.
The Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD).
*Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education does not accept transfer credits/hours.
Academy Levels I & II
Academy Levels I & II are designed for our youngest dancers beginning committed preparatory training. By audition only.
Academy Level III
With up to five hours of required daily classes, Academy Level III students practice classical and contemporary ballet, pointe, adagio, modern, and jazz.
Academy Levels IV & V
With up to five hours of required daily classes, Academy IV & V level students practice classical and contemporary ballet, pointe, adagio, modern, and jazz.
Academy VI
Academy Level VI gives young dancers the opportunity to develop in a nurturing atmosphere that will groom them to become professional dancers.
