The Nutcracker Audition 2024

Please review the information below for eligibility and procedure. Pre-registration for the audition is required. For all roles except gymnasts, auditionees must be a registered Centre student.

Health Policies

For the safety of the AB Company Members and Staff, please review the following requirements for Nutcracker Rehearsals and Performances. Please be aware that all Staff and AB Dancers are fully vaccinated and boosted.

Participants:
If your child has asthma or any breathing difficulties with masks, Do Not Audition.
If cast and your student falls ill, please do not bring them to rehearsals or theatre. Contact administration.

Rehearsal Expectations

Your student must attend ALL rehearsals. Further information regarding rehearsal times and schedules will be available after the audition and casting process.

Your child’s performance dates will depend on casting assignments. This year’s production will run from December 7 - December 26. Tech rehearsals at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre begin the week prior.

*If you are aware that your child cannot make any of the posted performances, please do not have them audition. There will be no excused absences this year.

*All rehearsals take place at the Michael C. Carlos Centre until we move into the theatre in December.

Pre-registration is REQUIRED. This is a TWO-STEP process.

• Register through the button link below.
• Download and complete audition form. Bring it with you, completed, to your audition.
• Due to costume restrictions, height requirements will be strictly enforced.
• No audition fee required. There is a $175 participation fee for each student cast.
• Note that there will be an additional cost for costume undergarments.
• Results will be sent via email within seven days. No phone calls or emails, please.
• Drop-off is recommended, as the parking lot will be busy and lobby capacity is limited.
• We cannot guarantee roles to all students who audition.
• Students must be of age by September 1, 2024, to audition.

Audition Attire

• Girls: Atlanta Ballet logo leotard, tights, and ballet shoes with hair pulled back neatly from the face and neck.
• Boys: Atlanta Ballet logo uniform t-shirt, tights or shorts, and ballet shoes.
• Gymnasts: leotard, appropriate shoes
• Absolutely no jewelry.
