Graduate Spotlight: Tempe Quinton

I’ve been a part of the Atlanta Ballet community for the past seven years now, and I can easily say that joining this community was one of the best choices I have ever made. During my time here I’ve been pushed in ways I didn't think were possible and, as a result, I was able to become the type of dancer that I dreamed of being when I was little.

I am so incredibly thankful for being able to experience this supportive community, where I have formed many friendships and learned from incredibly talented teachers. Dance means the world to me because it has offered me a safe space to express my emotions and grow as a person. To me, dance is a way of storytelling that allows people to connect with each other on a deeper level. This is why being a dancer is truly a unique experience.

My dance journey does not end here because there is still so much that I have to learn, which is why I will continue to dance when I attend the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada this fall. Though my major is undecided at the moment, I’m going to study at the Faculty of Science and will probably major in one of the many biological sciences offered.
