Session Optional Disciplines

Introducing our session programs for optional disciplines. These classes provide an opportunity for students to access a variety of dance classes in shorter 10-week intervals.

More Information

Our session programs provide an opportunity for students to access a variety of dance classes in shorter, 10-week classes. These classes are designed to be progressive for those choosing to study throughout the year. There is no spring concert component to these classes, but families will be invited to watch the last class of each session. Placement in all levels will be made by the instructor.

Hip-hop is a modern dance style born out of urban street dance. This exciting and fast-paced class includes breaking, locking, and popping. Students learn specific hip-hop steps and techniques as well as challenging choreography.

Jazz is a high-energy class with roots in jazz music of the last century, but it is brought up to date with the many styles seen in popular culture today. It is an essential part of a dancer’s training.

Musical theatre teaches students to be versatile as they are exposed to a wide variety of dance genres. The class helps develop a wellrounded dancer who can respond quickly to new choreography in distinct styles.

Tap gives students an opportunity to learn tap technique while incorporating both cabaret and rhythm tap.

Teen Ballet students must be age 12 and up, with ballet experience. This is not an entry-level class.

One class per week. All sessions are 10 weeks long. There is no Spring Concert for these classes. Tap I/II, Senior and Teen levels require placement.
