Tara Lee - January 10, 17 & 24
A contemporary dance class taught by Atlanta Ballet’s Tara Lee that will give students a professional rehearsal experience. Warm-up exercises will increase fluidity of the spine and flow of energy throughout the body; choreography will be taught and coached based on the principle that a relaxed mind creates greater awareness, ease, and efficiency in our dancing.

T. LANG - February 7, 14 & 21
Drawing from sophisticated contemporary modern technique, T. Lang’s SMALL PLATES short course class blends urban movement, forming a unique style and approach to contemporary dance. Focusing on core strength, velocity, along with suppleness, this class applies elements from repertory, improvisation, and personal experiences that encourage the dancer to demonstrate complex movement sequences with intelligence and artistic expression.

NICOLE LIVERATOS - March 7, 14 & 21
Nicole’s Small Plates short course promises to bring much needed absurdity to contemporary dance performance work. Her interest in sustainability has led to rummaging down unexpected avenues that will be shared with participants through movement. The content is absurdity with a focus on resources and inspirations like The Energy of Slaves: Oil and the New Servitude by Andrew Nikiforuk and the Pursuit of Happiness by Maira Kalman. Dancers will experience self-examination and record keeping - all as a winding inquiry.

SEAN HILTON - April 11, 18 & 25
Focused around the suffix "gen," meaning produced or generated, Sean Hilton’s Small Plates short course will lead dancers through a creative process drawing on the senses, the skin, the bones, timing, and composition that offers each dancer an individual opportunity to experiment with the present moment through contemporary dance.

Based on Zoetic’s diverse repertory, Melanie’s Small Plates short course brings together athleticism and artistry with moments of shared experience and opportunities for personal creative values to come through. Explore subtle shifts in dynamics and get way down low grounded with classical and contemporary dance techniques combined with your body’s personal way of moving through the world.
