Summer Intensive Students Getting Their Gaga On with Guest Instructor Saar Harari!
The Israeli Consulate of Atlanta is hosting Saar Harari, an Israeli dancer, cofounder of the LeeSaar Dance Company in New York, and Executive Producer of Gaga USA. He is one of a select group of certified Gaga instructors, so we are excited to host a workshop with him at our Michael C. Carlos Dance Centre in West Midtown for our Summer Intensive students. Created by Ohad Naharin, choreographer and Artistic Director of Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv, Gaga is an innovative dance style that focuses on establishing a mind-body connection. You probably recognize Naharin's name from Atlanta Ballet's 2013 New Choreographic Voices program, which included his electrifying work Minus 16. Atlanta Ballet is thrilled to bring a second work by the famed Israeli choreographer and father of Gaga to Atlanta audiences with Secus during Modern Choreographic Voices March 21-23, 2014.

About Gaga - courtesy of gagapeople.com
Gaga is a new way of gaining knowledge and self-awareness through your body. Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening your body and adding flexibility, stamina, and agility while lightening the senses and imagination. Gaga raises awareness of physical weaknesses, awakens numb areas, exposes physical fixations, and offers ways for their elimination. The work improves instinctive movement and connects conscious and unconscious movement, and it allows for an experience of freedom and pleasure in a simple way, in a pleasant space, in comfortable clothes, accompanied by music, each person with himself and others.
